The property is lovely! The setting and outdoor porch were the highlights of our stay. Our family of 3 kids (9-11) and 3 adults ate on the porch every morning and many evenings. The kitchen is spacious and allowed for a lot of meal prep. The master bedroom overlooks the pool and grounds, allowing us to hear kids playing while lounging during the days. The caretakers (Piet and Yvonne) were quite helpful. Piet was easily accessible and full of local tips (use the Waze app. for driving, this made a huge difference as signage is inconsistent and other driving apps did not work nearly as well). There was a problem with the sink/dishwasher leaking which was not resolved on our stay (it was a holiday) but the owners refunded some funds for the inconvenience which was an appropriate and appreciated gesture. We did a lot of cooking, so having the kitchen fully functional was important. Though the fix did not happen on our stay, we felt the response was great, under unforeseen circumstances. We took advantage of booking the service to be picked up at the airport (late arrival with a lot of people), had breakfast delivered our first morning (not fun to have a bunch of hungry kids and no coffee!) and even extended our stay a couple days to match our flights. The owners (Steve and Dianne) were clear, responsive and helpful from booking through the entire vacation. The property caretakers (Piet and Yvonne) were responsive, flexible, helpful and friendly from start to finish. We would certainly consider renting the property again. It is a great “staging point” for a host of day trips. We went to La Paz Waterfalls (great!); horseback riding (rocky/steep) but a true adventure, the local zoo, chocolate tour, local restaurants, etc. Generally, one day off property and another day centering on kids in pool and short, local trips. The house was the perfect size, configuration and floor plan for a multi-generational group. When you ask each kid what their favorite part was, they say, “the pool”. This was really important for the parents b/c we had built in entertainment for several hours everyday that did not involve negotiations over “screen time”. For my part, hanging out on the porch and watching hummingbirds at the feeder, picking the tart fruit in the yard and making a drink, playing catch with the kiddos in the backyard — all “on property” highlights.
